BLOOD十 MOOKS!

I finally got hold of the Material Settings books of Blood+ !!!!! <333

I used a proxy warehouse service for the first time called Buyee. Apparently, it’s the official partner of Mercari for international shipping so I used it automatically, lol. I’ve read a huge number of bad reviews about it online so I was scared that I might have had my money wasted. Fortunately, it arrived much faster than I expected

So yeah, good service at least from my first time experience with them. ^^;;

Anyway, the small books are actually the bonus materials that come with the Limited Edition Blu Ray DVDs and I thought I could get my hands on them for more reference and trivia/ special information. These are the old 2006 / 7(?) ones because there was a new version released in 2020. I want to buy the 2020 blu ray dvds some time and get the “re-edited” versions of the material books PLUS the art book but they’re quite pricey for me atm and I’m still saving up some money for the vet bills gah.

But if I manage to save enough where I don’t feel guilty for spending over 250-300 USD for a blu-ray series, I’d definitely buy it to support them, haha.

Some rough B+ scraps from my sketchbook:

I forgot how tedious drawing in a regular graphics tablet was, lol.

(They look sooo wonky.)

I’m so used to the accuracy and efficient workflow of drawing on my screen tablet (pen display) that going back to my intuos pro was such a pain in the arse to adjust to again.

On one hand, I miss drawing with the typical handeye coordination tablet (as I grew up with it and was forced to adjust and transition from traditional pen and paper to having to draw on a tablet while looking at the screen the entire time, lol) but on the other, I would be lying if I said I missed how my strokes were so rough and inaccurate mostly, and how long it took me to finish artworks, haha.

I’m quite jealous of the younger generation of artists who can access screen tablets easily especially given how widely available and affordable they are now…at least compared to the wacom cintiq, haha.

I remember a time when if you wanted a decent screen tablet, you had to save up or invest in a cintiq which costs A TON of money and as far as I can recall, artists I knew who had cintiqs at that time seemed to be well-off (the young ones at least), old enough to have disposable income to shell out for it, or in a professional art field.

But really, I’m glad wacom doesn’t have a monopoly when it comes to decent screen tablets already. Of course, they are still the top brand when it comes to tablets but their prices aren’t exactly uh…average person friendly. And I personally believe that art should be accessible to ALL social classes. God knows how demotivated I was with making art when I was young because of how much I was deprived of art tools due to them being too pricey and unavailable for my broke arse.

So yeah, I’m glad I’m able to afford one as well. (though mine was a gift from Rin, gahh thanks so much ILU <33333) Having a pen display greatly increased my productivity with making art, heh.

bleh

Posting some casual drawings of blood plus as I continue to work on comics and other stuff I need to finish. ^^;;

Ahhh…comics….They’re such a pain in the arse to do that I often find myself wondering why I even do them in the first place esp with fan comics, lol. But as they say, making art of any theme or form is like being in a masochistic relationship. You hate it but you also like it at the same time and keep coming back to it no matter how much of a pain they are.

I get very frustrated with how much time and effort comics take but I also love the self satisfaction it gives me after I finish them.

…just as long as I don’t fixate on the mistakes in anatomy, etc, lol.

working

Sorry for my idleness for the past week, ORZ. I was busy with doing storyboards and thumbnails for future fancomics, ehehe.

I’ve also been fangirling with Rin about a new favourite ship from Blood+ that isn’t canon (but blood+ canon “romance” sucks especially with their comphet haha).haji and saya had absolutely no chemistry at all. Seriously, i couldn’t get over the ending since 2006.

Here’s a WIP of the current fancomic I have of the ship:

It’s going to take a little while to finish it unfortunately, but not super long, I hope. I still have other comics and illustrations to finish.

I always wonder if I have some ADD/ADHD that is undiagnosed. My sister was diagnosed with it and so far I haven’t checked with my Psychiatrist about it. I thought that ADHD was just the stereotypical super hyper person with short attention spans disorder but apparently, it’s a much complex one. hyperfixation /focus is one of the symptoms and I find that I display it heavily when it comes to certain hobbies especially with art.

Like, when I start making comics, I frequently go all out on it which means I can’t do any other artwork unless I finish the entire chapter or one shot. I can’t seem to alternate between making comics and then illustration while still working on the comics. I HAVE to finish the comic before doing anything else.

It’s an all or nothing mentality. ://

Also, I doodled this yesterday.

lulu has no body..oops

ah well.

It’s getting late I should sleep.

Goodnight.

Sex Ed [BLOOD+ Comic]

The internet here has been so crappy lately, ugh.

But I’ve managed to do a full coloured blood+ fancomic strip…took me almost two weeks, that’s how slow I am atm, gah.

I know Blood+ is more or less an obscure fandom but I…really love it and I want to make more content of it especially since I’m a diehard Kai x Irene shipper (and KarmanxMoses) lol.

They have a sequel, Blood # (a light novel) but I’ll be completely disregarding it and some elements in the canon. It’s a boring rehash imho. Personally, I believe if you’re making a sequel, it should expand the story and add more to the characters, It should build more to the story and not rehash the same stuff.

Thanks to Rin for all the help and support ❀ (and for bringing back my love for this 15 year old series. It’s your friggin’ fault. )
